Hi, my name is Rick Muchewicz. I live with my family in Springfield Tennessee. My wife, daughter, and I attend and serve in a Southern Baptist church in Orlinda Tennessee (Pleasant Hill Baptist Church). I work to support them and enjoy writing on the side. I love to read, especially the puritans, church history, and reformed theology. I graduated from Boyce College of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I'm amazed at God's grace, long to be in heaven, desire to edify the saints, strive to feed the flock, love preaching and teaching the word of God and his glorious gospel, and am just a lowly pilgrim trying to progress. The Faith of Demons is my first book.
I got the idea to write The Faith of Demons sometime after reading a sermon by Jonathan Edwards. His sermon, True Grace Distinguished From the Experience of Devils, impacted me greatly. I had never thought of faith and salvation in those terms before. What did he say that was so life-changing? To summarize Edwards' main point: anything that is found in a demon (knowledge, experience) that is also found in a man, cannot be saving faith. In other words, true salvation, true grace must go beyond what is common to the demonic realm. They know doctrine and have seen Christ, yet they are and will remain doomed. So, saving faith must be more than knowledge and assent of certain facts. Saving faith is trusting the Person of Christ for salvation. There is more to it than that, but you will have to buy the book!
Since reading Edwards' sermon, I have had a burden to write on the subject of God's amazing plan of redemption. We live in a day and time when anything goes religiously. Churches may be filled, but who or what are they filled with? The Faith of Demons seeks to address the issues of easy-believism and casual Christianity (if it can even be called "Christianity").
Please contact me with any questions or feedback. I welcome it, and look forward to meeting you. May God bless you.
In Christ alone,
Rick Muchewicz
